When I answer the door,

resist an inevitably-new screen and choking,

she'll laugh

at teeth covered in chocolate.

These are the jokes

we play when one

is defending her drinking,

the other her boyfriend's wife.

It refers to being a shit-eater

but in the laughing

and laughing,

it is a slow ink

drawing us back
